Annual Series Lectures

The Athens University of Economics and Business recently established the Annual Series of Lectures "Nobel Series of Lectures in Economic Sciences" with funding from the Bank of Cyprus. This series will feature, once a year, a winner of the Nobel Prize in Economic Science, who will be invited to deliver a lecture to faculty, students, policy makers, and the general public.

The series will be initiated this year. The first lecture will be delivered on April 8th, 2011 at Megaron, The Athens Concert Hall, by Professor Christopher A. Pissarides, one of the three winners of the Nobel Prize 2010 in Economic Science "for their analysis of markets with search frictions".

The series of lectures constitutes another activity of AUEB reflecting academic excellence, the most important goal of our University. The establishment of the Annual Series Lectures will contribute to AUEB's further steps to extraversion and internationalization.

During the ceremony, Professor Christopher A. Pissarides will also be awarded an Honorary Doctorate by AUEB's Department of Economics
