Athens University of Economics & Business: Social Contribution Actions

At the Athens University of Economics and Business, a double voluntary action was carried out by its members on December 15 & 16. On the one hand, a blood donation in collaboration with the Panagiotis and Aglaia Kyriakou Children's Hospital, and on the other, a Christmas Bazaar organized by HERMES (the Association of Parents, Guardians and Friends of Persons with Disabilities) took place with great participation, sending out a message of solidarity and community once again this year.

In these critical times, AUEB, responding to the increased needs for the preservation of blood stock, organized the 56th voluntary blood donation, where professors, administrative staff of the Institution, as well as many students rushed to donate blood to our fellow citizens who need it.

At the same time, they collected food donations for the needs of the HERMES Charitable Association, but also supported the Association by hosting a bazaar displaying the handmade crafts of the HERMES’ children.

It is worth noting that, during these actions, many students participated- especially freshmen who view this new phase of their lives -showing how much they care to address the needs of society.

AUEB’s Vice Rector, Professor Konstantinos Drakos, stressed: "The community of the Athens University of Economics and Business is alert to the needs of society by offering assistance, supporting hope and faith in Man, values that pervade the University’s culture."
