Sight-seeing

Due to its history, Athens boasts probably the highest number of ancient monuments in the world. These have recently been joined by pedestrian routes that allow for the visitor to uninterruptedly walk through the ancient Agora to the Acropolis and to a number of other monuments, in what has been dubbed a "unification" of archeological and cultural spaces. The term "unification" means in this context the creation of a continuous fabric of public spaces, parks, and facilities for culture and recreation, which incorporate and link all the significant cultural landmarks of Athens, including its principal monuments and archaeological sites.
