2nd AUEB Panhellenic Debating Tournament

The Student Debate Society of the Athens University of Economics and Business hosts the 2nd Panhellenic Debating Tournament on November Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th, 2009, in the classes of Antoniadou wing (central building,

76 Patission st.)

This tournament presents a perfect opportunity for debaters from all over Greece, as well as a way of introducing debate into the public. Anyone who wishes can watch the rounds starting on Saturday 28th at 11:00 and finishing on Sunday 29th

with the Finals, taking place at 17.30 in 'Antoniadou' Amphitheatre.

AUEB's Student Debate Society was founded in 2003, and its goal is to make Debate known in the academic community, introducing students to one of the most constructive activities, teaching them how to address an audience and construct solid

arguments.

Debating, the basic activity of the Debate Society and the main feature of the tournament, is a contest of arguments and persuasion on an important issue. Participants are expected to argue a position they were given and rebut the opposing

teams' arguments, regardless of what they personally believe.
