The Department of Economics of AUEB co-organizes the Fifteenth CEPR/JIE Conference and Eleventh School on Applied Industrial Organization that takes place from May 21 through May 24, 2014 in Athens.

This conference series is one of the top conferences in the field worldwide and aims to contribute to an analytical understanding of the issues raised by competition, innovation and investment, develop empirical protocols and tests of economic models, promote the exchange and the dissemination of results at the forefront of research, and finally, evaluate current competition and regulation policies. It covers the state of the art in applied and empirical industrial organization.

Jean Tirole (Scientific Director of IDEI, Toulouse School of Economics) and Aviv Nevo (Northwestern University and Deputy Assistant Attorney General for Economic Analysis, U.S. Department of Justice) will be the keynote speakers.

The conference is preceded by the Eleventh School on Applied Industrial Organization, which takes place on 21st of May 2014. The aim of the annual School is to provide a forum for intellectual exchanges between PhD students and more experienced researchers in the field of industrial organization.

Other organizers and supporters of the conference include the Journal of Industrial Economics, the Foundation for Economic and Industrial Research (IOBE), the Bank of Greece and the Hellenic Competition Commission.

Marc Ivaldi (Toulouse School of Economics and CEPR) and Nikos Vettas (AUEB, IOBE and CEPR) are the conference organizers.
