Dimitris A. Tsouknidis, is Associate Professor at the Department of Accounting and Finance of the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB). His field of expertise is Shipping Finance. Before joining AUEB, he has served for ten years as a Faculty member at the University of Piraeus (Greece), Cyprus University of Technology (Cyprus) and University of Bradford (UK), while he has served as a Visiting Faculty member at the Hellenic Open University (Greece) and the University of Reading (UK). He has studied at the University of Thessaly, University of Essex and Athens University of Economics and Business. He has published almost twenty-five papers in highly ranked refereed journals and refereed book chapters. His research has been published at Transportation Research Part E (6), Journal of the Royal Statistical Society: Series A, Journal of International Money and Finance, Energy Economics, International Review of Financial Analysis, European Journal of Finance, European Management Review, Applied Economics, Maritime Policy and Management (3), Maritime Economics and Logistics. He has co-authored the book Freight Derivatives and Risk Management in Shipping published by Routledge Taylor and Francis Group. He has served as Associate Editor, Editorial Board member and reviewer for several highly ranked academic journals. He has received a best paper award from the International Association of Maritime Economists (IAME) and a teaching excellence award from the Athens University of Economics and Business.
