TSOUKNIDIS DIMITRIS

Dimitris A. Tsouknidis is an Associate Professor of the Department of Accounting and Finance of the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB). He serves as the Deputy Scientific Director of the MSc in International Shipping, Finance and Management of AUEB. In the past, he has been a full-time faculty member at the Cyprus University of Technology, the University of Piraeus, and the University of Bradford (UK), while he has been a Visiting Professor at the University of Reading (UK), the Hellenic Open University, and the ALBA Graduate Business School, among others. He has received a BSc in Economics from the University of Thessaly, an MSc in Computational Finance from the University of Essex (UK), an MBA and a PhD in Finance from AUEB.
He has published almost thirty academic journal publications in prestigious peer-reviewed scientific journals and book chapters in collective volumes in the fields of International Finance, Shipping Finance, Financial Derivatives and Energy Finance. His research has been published in journals such as the Journal of the Royal Statistical Society: Series A, Journal of International Money and Finance (2 papers), Energy Economics, Transportation Research Part E (6 papers), International Review of Financial Analysis, European Journal of Finance, International Journal of Finance and Economics, European Management Review, Applied Economics, Maritime Policy and Management (3 papers), Maritime Economics and Logistics (2 papers). He has co-authored the book Freight Derivatives and Risk Management in Shipping published by Routledge Taylor and Francis Group and has contributed chapters in collective volumes published by Oxford University Press. He serves as an associate editor, member of the editorial board and reviewer in several international scientific journals. He has received a best paper award from the International Association of Maritime Economists (IAME) and a teaching excellence award from the Athens University of Economics and Business. He has served on the scientific committee of the conferences held by the European Financial Management Association and the International Association of Maritime Economists.
