Course/Teaching Evaluation

The end of each teaching period in the Postgraduate Studies Programs has been linked to the evaluation of the course/teaching and the coordinated effort for the completion of the questionnaire by the students. Recently, with a view to the More Effective and Efficient Operation of our University's services, the Quality Assurance Unit of AUEB received a new information system in accordance with the European standards of academic education.

The new system provides graded access to its functions and supports the evaluation of courses/teaching staff with the parallel production of descriptive statistics.

To replace traditional and bureaucratic functions, the new Quality Assurance Unit’s system is linked to the Student Register, for a more efficient flow of information. Consequently, fewer resources are required as the Secretariat and other staff are largely freed from the preparation of the evaluation and the collection of questionnaires.

At the same time, with the aim of more effective quality management and the creation of new internal institutions, the interface with the Electronic Secretariat was provided, i.e. the portal from which students are served daily for issues such as course declarations, grades, certificates, etc. Therefore, the evaluation questionnaire is addressed only to accredited students, is completed only once and malicious actions are eliminated.

The process is quite simple: The student connects to the Electronic Secretariat (e-grammateia) with the institutional credentials, from the Evaluation menu he/she finds the list of available questionnaires per course and per instructor in cases of co-teaching, opens each questionnaire by clicking on the relevant button, completes it and submits it. It is worth noting that the links are created randomly and lead to the completion of the questionnaires outside the portal, so that it is impossible to associate the participants with the submitted answers. In this way, the anonymity of the students is preserved.

The electronic course/teaching evaluation in the Postgraduate Programs begins ten (10) days before the start of the examination period and lasts for ten (10) days.

The results of the evaluations are communicated individually to each lecturer, in detail to the Director of the Postgraduate Program, and collectively on the Quality Assurace Unit website after the end of the academic year.
