PERRAKIS KONSTANTINOS
Konstantinos Perrakis is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Statistics of Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB). His research focuses on the development and application of Bayesian methodology related to model and variable selection, clustering and regression analysis via mixture modelling, and high-dimensional predictive modelling. In the past he was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences of Durham University in the UK, while prior to that he worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) in Bonn, in AUEB (Department of Statistics) and, also, in the University of Athens (Department of Hygiene, Epidemiology and Medical Statistics, Medical School). He is a graduate of AUEB with a BSc in Economics from the Department of International and European Economic Studies and a MSc in Statistics from the Department of Statistics. He has a PhD in Transportation Sciences awarded by the University of Hasselt in Belgium; his doctoral thesis investigated Bayesian approaches for origin-destination modeling and traffic assignment inference.
