Professional Experience:

Temporary Lecturer at the University of Crete and the University of the Aegean (1993-1998), Assistant Professor at Technological Educational Institute of Crete (1998-1999), Assistant Professor at the Department of Mathematics of the University of the Aegean (1999-2001), Associate Professor at the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science of the University of the Aegean (2001-2004), Associate Professor at the Department of Financial and Management Engineering of the University of the Aegean (2004-2009), Associate Professor at the Department of Statistics of Athens University of Economics and Business (2009-2015), Professor at the Department of Statistics of Athens University of Economics and Business (since February 2015).

Research Interests:

Applied Probability and Stochastic Operations Research, Markov decision processes, Population models in Epidemiology and Ecology, Maintenance and Replacement Models, Control of Queues, Logistics. My work has been published in Journal of Applied Probability, European Journal of Operational Research, Operations Research Letters, Statistics and Probability Letters, Probability in the Engineering and Informational Sciences, International Journal of Production Economics, Methodology and Computing in Applied Economics, Computers and Operations Research, Mathematical and Computer Modelling, The Mathematical Scientist, International Journal of Applied Mathematics and Decision Sciences, Mathematical Problems in the Engineering, Communications in Statistics-Theory and Methods.

Teaching:

He teaches the following courses: Probability, Introduction to Operations Research, Estimation and Hypothesis Testing, Business Statistics, Quantitative Methods II (Statistics for Business Administration), Dynamic Programming, Inventory Control, Network optimization, Epidemic Models.
