ANTONIOU FABIO

Fabio Antoniou is an Associate Professor at the Department of Economics of the Athens University of Economics and Business, working primarily in Industrial Organization and Applied Microeconomics, with secondary interests in Public Finance. He holds a PhD in Economics from AUEB and has previously served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Humboldt University Berlin and as Visiting Lecturer at the University of Cyprus, in addition to academic positions at the University of Ioannina. His research analyzes firm behavior, market structure, and regulation, examining how taxation, subsidies, and institutional design shape strategic interaction and market performance, while complementing the analysis with empirical applications on topics such as pricing dynamics, strategic inventories, vertical markets, and corporate taxation. His work has been published in leading international journals, among others the RAND Journal of Economics, International Economic Review, Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, the International Journal of Industrial Organization, and Environmental and Resource Economics. His research has received international distinctions and competitive funding, and he contributes actively to the Industrial Organization and Public Economics communities through collaborations and presentations at major conferences.
