Journal of Contemporary Accounting and Economics (JCAE) Mid-Year Symposium

The 2016 JCAE Mid-Year Symposium will be held at Griffith University, Gold Coast campus. The symposium provides a platform for accounting, economics and corporate governance academics especially from Australia, New Zealand and Asia to present cutting-edge research findings.

The 2016 Keynote Speaker will be Professor Steven Cahan from the University of Auckland. Steven is a former Editor of Accounting & Finance, the journal of the Accounting and Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand, and the Pacific Accounting Review.

ABOUT THE JOURNAL OF CONTEMPORARY ACCOUNTING AND ECONOMICS (JCAE): The Journal is dedicated to publishing high quality manuscripts that rigorously apply economics and legal theory to accounting/auditing with an emphasis on empirical research. While there is a special focus on issues relevant to the Asia-Pacific region, the Journal also encourages submissions from countries outside the Asia-Pacific region. The following major areas as related to accounting and auditing issues: financial contracts, corporate governance, capital markets, financial institutions and economics of organizations.

Call For Submissions
The 7th International Conference of The Japanese Accounting Review

January 7, 2017, Japan

7TH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE: We are pleased to announce the Call for Submissions for the 7th international conference of The Japanese Accounting Review (TJAR) to be held on January 7, 2017 at Rokkodai Campus of Kobe University in Japan. The conference committee invites accounting researchers from around the globe to submit interesting and innovative papers. Areas of coverage include, but are not limited to: Financial Accounting and Reporting, Taxation, Auditing, Management Accounting, International Accounting, Accounting History, and Accounting Education.

Professor Sugata Roychowdhury (Boston College) is a Keynote Speaker for the 7th conference.

SUBMISSION PATTERN: We prepare the following two-submission pattern for the Conference:

(a) SUBMISSION FOR THE REVIEW AND THE CONFERENCE: This submission pattern is suitable for researchers who wish their papers to be considered for publication in the Review and also presentation at the Conference. Paper submissions will be dealt as normal submission to the Review and be peer-reviewed whether they fit to the Review's aims and scope. Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not currently under review by other journals. The reviewer(s) will provide some feedback on your paper as soon as possible. Papers accepted for this submission pattern will be published in the Review subject to appropriate response to reviewer's comments.

(b) SUBMISSION FOR THE CONFERENCE: This submission pattern is suitable for researchers who do not wish to commit the Review but wish to make a presentation at the Conference. The program committee will evaluate each submitted paper based on its significance and originality. Manuscripts previously published are not acceptable. This submission pattern is design for researchers to solicit constructive feedback from conference attendees to improve ongoing research for future journal submission.

  • Authors are invited to submit full paper written in English
  • The program committee uses a double blind review process. To promote anonymous review, please do not contain any author information and acknowledgments in your paper submission

  • No submission fee will be charged - Deadline for submission: 11:59 pm JST on August 19, 2016
  • Notification of Acceptance: October 21, 2016

We are seeking an outstanding Senior Lecturer/Reader in Accounting or Finance to join our successful School of Management. It is an open ended contract from 1st October 2016, salary grade 9 - British Pound 49,230 to 55,389 per annum.

JOB DESCRIPTION: As a Senior Lecturer/Reader you will be a key contributor to our research-led and student-centred approach to Accounting and Finance education. You will pursue and publish research of high quality in line with the School's objective of producing internationally excellent research with a meaningful societal impact. As part of this, you will be expected to secure, in collaboration with colleagues as appropriate, external funding through research grants or contracts to support a developing research agenda. The ability to create new modules would be particularly welcome.

You will also carry out administration and other activities that contribute to, and support, the work of the School in developing its strategies, improving its practices and enhancing its reputation, both internal and external to the University.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: In finance, we welcome specialists in any field of finance and/or financial economics (both theoretical and empirical). In Accounting, we are keen to attract candidates with expertise in financial accounting and/or management accounting and an established track record of research in accounting as social and institutional practice.

The School of Business Administration (SoBA), home of the A. Gary Anderson Graduate School of Management (AGSM) at the University of California, Riverside, invites applications for full-time Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Teaching in Information Systems.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Full-time Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Teaching in the University of California are members of the Academic Senate and are expected to engage in teaching, professional activities and University and public service. An appointee in this series is assigned a heavier instructional load in recognition of the fact that research activity is not required. Associate and Full Professor of teaching have the equivalent of tenure. These appointments are similar to clinical professor appointments at other universities.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: We seek faculty members with demonstrated excellence in teaching, an interest in program administration, and a continuing interest in pedagogical academic research. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Information Systems or in a relevant discipline. New Ph.D. candidates must have completed all Ph.D. requirements prior to appointment. Candidates are expected to teach at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.

DePaul University invites applications for the Director of the School of Accountancy and Management Information Systems. The School offers numerous degree programs, including undergraduate programs in accountancy and MIS and on-campus and online graduate programs in Accountancy, Taxation and three MBA concentrations. The School is one of the largest academic accounting programs in Illinois, with 42 full-time faculty and over 2000 students.
