Visit to the Library and to the Museum of the Bank of Greece

The Library of the Bank of Greece has organized an information visit for the public on Friday, June 30, 2017 from 12:00 to 14:00 on its premises. The Library is located in the central building of the Bank of Greece (3rd floor, entrance: Ed. Low and El Venizelos 21, Athens). This event is part of the program of activities that the Hellenic Economic Library Network (H.E.LI.N.) has scheduled for 2017, including information visits to the Member Libraries in the Network.

Participants will learn about the history, the services, and the collections of the Library of Greece's Central Bank. Additionally, they will see some of the 42 oldest printed books (that were published by 1799) in the Library's collection. Finally, there will be a guided tour of the Museum (Amerikis 3, Athens), where Greece's modern monetary and economic history are exhibited. There is also a retrospective exhibition of the engraver Alexandros Korogiannakis (1906 - 1966). During the visit to the Library, Bank of Greece publications will be distributed to the participants.

Registration is required and must be submitted electronically on the Hellenic Economic Libraries Network website (please click here) by Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at the latest. Entrance is free.

You must show a printout of your registration and your identity card or some other form of official identification at the entrance of the Bank.
