Suspension of Library Operations through Sunday 10.05.2020

We would like to inform you that, according to the recent decision that was published in the Government Gazette B 1293/2020 on 10.04.2020, the suspension of library operations at the Athens University of Economics and Business has been extended through Sunday 10.05.2020 and the library will continue to be closed to the AUEB community as a precautionary public health measure.  According to the data that is available so far, and because the suspension of the library’s operation has been extended to prevent the spread of COVID-19, we would like to advise you of the following:

  • All the areas of the Library will remain closed to the public through Sunday, May 10, 2020
  • Borrowing and returning books will not take place during the time period that library operations are suspended.
  • Books, for which the return date is within the suspension time frame, can be returned once the suspension of library operations has ended, without any surcharge
  • The lending service to and from other academic libraries has been suspended.
  • EVDOXOU books will not be returned during the period of suspension of operations.   If you should have a problem with return of course books, please send us a message with you name, your academic number and the books that must be returned so that we can assist you with the process.  The books will have to be returned right after the operations suspension has been lifted.
  • The submission of diplomatic theses to the PYXIDA Repository will be done by electronic submission as usual.  The certificate of submission will be sent electronically to the submitters who should then forward the certificate to their Secretariat.
  • The library staff will be physically present in the library in rotating shifts and will provide telephone assistance to public from 8.30 to 15.00.  The staff who are not physically present in the library are working from home and will answer your questions electronically.
  • The seminars that have already been scheduled on the use of the library and its collections will be converted to webinars, with the use of digital platforms, for the duration of the suspension of library operations.
  • Please use the digital sources which are available in the University Library.
