THE OPPORTUNITY
This position offers an opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to the daily operations of a professional accounting department within the shipping sector.
The successful candidate will work in close proximity to senior management within the Finance Department, gaining direct exposure to real operational and financial processes while applying academic knowledge to practical business situations.
Due to the level of exposure and responsibility associated with the role, the position is best suited for candidates with strong academic foundations, intellectual curiosity, and a genuine interest in professional development.
RESPONSIBILITIES
•Participation in daily bookkeeping activities and accounting entries
•Execution of the Accounting Department’s administrative and operational tasks
•Assistance in treasury procedures, including bank account reconciliations and preparation of payments
•Support in general ledger reconciliations (clients, vendors, and creditors)
•Assistance in the preparation of internal financial reports
•Support in the preparation of documentation for external reporting and audits
REQUIREMENTS
•BSc or MSc in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Maritime Studies or related fields. Final-year undergraduate students who are expected to graduate within the current academic year are also welcome to apply.
•Strong academic track record
•Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office
•Fluency in English (written and spoken)
•Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic and demanding professional environment
•Analytical thinking, attention to detail, and strong work ethic
•Military obligations fulfilled
•Knowledge of the shipping industry will be considered an advantage
