rogress Report on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for the period 2023–2024
The Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) proudly announces the publication of its Progress Report on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for the period 2023–2024, prepared by the University’s Quality Assurance Unit (MODIP). The report presents in a transparent and detailed manner the actions undertaken by the University that actively contribute to the achievement of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
The United Nations Global Compact was launched in July 2000 as a framework encouraging organizations to align their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labor, the environment, and anti-corruption. Since March 2013, AUEB has been a proud participant in the United Nations Global Compact.
The University’s Social Responsibility Report highlights AUEB’s strong commitment across four key pillars:
-
Social Justice and Equality: Initiatives aimed at reducing inequalities, promoting gender equality, and combating poverty, both within and beyond the university community.
-
Quality Education and Innovation: Lifelong learning, research, and development programs that advance knowledge and foster sustainable industry.
-
Environmental Sustainability: Actions designed to reduce the University’s environmental footprint, protect the climate, and manage natural resources responsibly.
-
Partnerships for the Goals: Collaborations with public and private sector organizations to maximize the impact of the University’s initiatives.
The Report serves as a valuable tool for monitoring the University’s progress toward global goals, while also functioning as a reference point for AUEB’s future strategies and actions. Above all, it underscores the central role that AUEB plays as a driver of social change and sustainable development.
The Athens University of Economics and Business extends its sincere gratitude to all members of its academic community—students, faculty, staff, and external partners—for their active engagement, which made these initiatives possible.
