AUDIT COMMITTEE OF THE ATHENS UNIVERSITY OF ECONOMICS AND BUSINESS

The Audit Committee of the Athens University of Economics and Business was formed following a call for expressions of interest by the Rector of the University, ref. no. 1992/29.02.2024, in accordance with the provisions of Law 4795/2021 (A'62), in alphabetical order, as follows:

a) Argyriadis Athanasios, Head of Internal Audit, 2nd DY.P.E. Piraeus and Aegean.

b) Thanasas Georgios, Associate Professor of the Department of Management Science and Technology of the School of Economics and Business Administration of the University of Patras, Chairman of the Audit Committee of the Athens University of Economics and Business.

c) Ioannis Katsanakis, Assistant Professor in the Department of Tourism Studies, School of Economics, Business and International Studies, University of Piraeus.

The Audit Committee of the Athens University of Economics and Business has the following responsibilities:

1. Guarantees the independence of the Internal Audit Unit (IAU) by ensuring the functional reporting relationship between the IAU and the Rector on internal audit matters.

2. It monitors the work of the Internal Audit Unit on internal audit matters by submitting to it the annual work program and annual report of the Unit.

3. Provides advice on any issue concerning the mission and duties of the Internal Audit Unit for internal audit, ensuring its effectiveness and the quality of its work.

4. Monitors the effective functioning of the Internal Audit System and the risk management system and ensures that the recommendations of the Internal Audit Unit are duly taken into account.

The Operating Regulations of the Audit Committee may further specify its responsibilities.

The term of office of the members of the Audit Committee is set at three (3) years, with the possibility of renewal for the same period, and is not full-time or exclusive.
