George G. Panigyrakis, Dipl., Msc, PhD., Professor of Marketing, Athens University of Economics and Business. He completed his Ph.D. in Marketing Management at the University College of Wales, G. Britain. He was the Director of the MBA program of the Athens University of Economics and Business for 12 years.
He has served on the faculties of the Groupe ESSEC, Paris, France, for seven years and the University of Stirling (visiting Professor), Scotland, U.K. for one year. He has held visiting appointments at the European Institute of Mediterranean Studies, Zaragosa, Spain, European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) MBA Program, Beijing, China, the Audencia Business School (Nantes), ESC Rennes School of Business (Rennes), (Lille), France. He has extensive consultancy experience in companies and organizations of the private and public sector. He has participated and coordinated a number of national and international research projects. He has also been elected as the President of the Hellenic Institute for Consumer Service in 2004, 2006, 2008 and currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors.
His research in the areas of Marketing, Integrated & Marketing Communications, Brand Management, International-Export/Marketing, and Services Marketing, has appeared in a number of books and journals. He has published in such journals as: Journal of Financial Services Marketing, Journal of Promotion Management, Journal of Marketing Management, Journal of Product & Brand Management, Corporate Communications: An International Journal, Review of Business Information Systems, Revue Français de Gestion, Business & Finance, International Journal of Food Marketing. He has made several presentations for the French, European, American and World Marketing Academies, and for many recognized international academic congresses, such as ICORIA, ICMC etc. and also acted as conference or track chair.
He is a member of the editorial board of international peer reviewed journals such as Corporate Communications: an International Journal, Journal of Marketing Communications, International Journal of Advertising.
