PAYMENTS SPECIALIST | ΕΛΒΑΛΧΑΛΚΟΡ

The Payments Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of all accounts payable transactions. This position will involve various tasks related to payments processing, financial record-keeping and vendor management. The Payments Specialist will report to the Treasury Manager and collaborate closely with other members of the finance and procurement departments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

VENDOR MANAGEMENT:

Maintain vendor records and update contact information
Communicate with vendors regarding payment inquiries and issues
Establish and maintain positive relationships with vendors

PAYMENT PROCESSING:

Prepare and schedule payments to vendors, including checks, ACH transfers, and wire transfers
Verify and reconcile payment amounts
Ensure payments are made in a timely manner to take advantage of discounts and avoid late fees

MONTH-END CLOSE:

Assist in the month-end close process by reconciling accounts payable records
Prepare and update accounts payable aging reports
Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate financial reporting

COMPLIANCE AND DOCUMENTATION:

Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and relevant regulations
Maintain organized and accurate records of accounts payable transactions
Assist with audits as needed

PROCESS IMPROVEMENT:

Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains
Participate in projects to enhance accounts payable processes and systems
Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred)
More than 3 years of proven experience as an Accounts Payable/Payment Specialist or in a similar role
Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Excel
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team
Knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations
