Dr Maria Vakola is an organisational psychologist and she is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Athens University of Economics and Business. She holds a degree in Psychology from Athens University, a Master's Degree in Organisational Psychology from UMIST, UK. She received her PhD in Organisational Behaviour/Change Management from the University of Salford, UK which was funded from the European Union. Maria worked as a lecturer and visiting lecturer in the UK for a number of years at the University of Salford, University of Westminster and Bradford Business School.

She has also worked as consultant designing and implementing change and business process re-engineering projects and presented her work in executive seminars. Her consulting experience and research interest focus on the role of human factor in organisational change and development. She has also participated as co-ordinator and investigator in many European funded projects.

Maria has published in the areas of change management and organisational behaviour. She teaches organisational behaviour, change management and human resource management in an undergraduate, postgraduate and executive level.
