He was born in Lamia on 12.08.1973. He was elected MP in Fthiotida in the election in 2007. He is a member of the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs. He was elected secretary of the Presidium of the Parliament.

He is Mechanical Engineer, National Technical University of Athens, he has a master in Business Administration (MBA), Management School, Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, University of London, and a Doctor?s degree (PhD), Department of Banking and Finance, Cass Business School, City University. In the period 1996-2000 he received scholarships from the Eugenides Foundation.

He is assistant professor of finance, Department of Accounting and Finance, Athens University of Economics and Business (2006-today), part time academic staff at the Hellenic Open University (2004-2007), lecturer at the Athens University of Economics and Business (2002-2006), visiting professor or assistant professor at the University of Thessaly (2004), University of Athens (2002), and City University (1999). The last decade, he has staffed places of high responsibility in recognized prestige financier organizations, as are Eurobank (2000-2004) and the Central Bank of England (2000). He has published many scientific articles in Greece and abroad in the fields of banking and finance and has participated in many scientific international conferences presenting his papers. He is member of many scientific and research societies and committees.
